On March 18, 2026, in Katowice, a memorandum of understanding on scientific and educational cooperation was signed between the Academy of Applied Sciences in Racibórz and the Silesian Voivodeship, represented by the Silesian Voivodeship Executive Board.
The document was signed by the Rector and a professor of the Academy, Dr. Paweł Strózik, and, on behalf of the province, by Ms. Anna Kwaśniewska, Director of the Department of Education. The agreement represents a significant step toward strengthening cooperation between the academic community and the regional government.
Purpose of the agreement
Its primary objectives are to develop initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in the region, particularly by improving the work of teachers, supporting students, and creating modern educational solutions.
The agreement also includes the development of scientific, educational, and outreach initiative, as well as the organization of conferences, workshops, and competitions that foster the exchange of experiences and build relationships between education, science, and the socio-economic environment.
Under the agreement, the Academy has committed, among other things, to co-organizing educational and outreach initiatives, providing support in the development of original curricula, and enabling teachers and students to participate in academic courses and technical projects. Another key element will be engaging students and academic staff in research activities and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in the region, as well as co-organizing competitions and educational events.
For its part, the Silesian Voivodeship had committed to creating the necessary organizational conditions for the implementation of joint activities, including providing the necessary infrastructure. Its responsibilities also include collaborating on the organization of educational and outreach projects, facilitating the participation of teachers and students in the Academy’s initiatives aimed at disseminating the results of collaboration.

The signed agreement establishes and strengthens cooperation between the university and the local government and creates opportunities for implementing innovative educational projects.
