On March 17, 2026, the Silesian EURAXESS Network held its inaugural meeting at the Silesian University of Technology; an initiative aimed at strengthening the internalization and competitiveness of Polish universities. Invited by the event organizers, the event was attended by the Rector and professor of the Academy of Applied Sciences in Racibórz, Dr. Paweł Strózik, who actively participated in the discussion on the future of scientific cooperation in the region.
A Joint Initiative by Silesian Universities
The Silesian EURAXESS Network is a project carried out jointly by the Silesian University of Technology, the University of Economics in Katowice, and the University of Silesia in Katowice. It is part of the national NAWA-EURAXESS network, which is a component of a broader European Commission program aimed at supporting the mobility of researchers and advancing their careers on the international stage.
Challenges and Needs of the Research Community
During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the challenges faced by researchers and their families in the context of international mobility. The panel discussions emphasized that effective support requires cooperation not only among academic institutions, but also with local authorities and the entire region. Only such an approach will create a friendly and open environment conducive to the development of research and the attraction of talent from abroad.
The Involvement of the Academy of Applied Sciences in Racibórz
The participation of the Rector of the Academy of Applied Sciences in Racibórz in the event underscores the University’s commitment to internationalization processes and building strong relationships with academic partners in Silesia. The Silesian EURAXESS Network initiative represents a significant step toward creating a modern, competitive, and open academic environment in the region. The Academy of Applied Sciences in Racibórz formally joins the Silesian EURAXESS Network by signing the relevant declaration.
